Two days in....

I can't say that I love Wix. The engine wants to infer too much and seemingly forgets instructions. Example - I told it not to crop photos when it rearranges. Yet, it still crops. It also can't do some things that seem like they should be possible. For example, if you upload a bunch of pictures, the image data set gets cluttered. You can put in folders and organize, but when you go to add from the image data set, the folders are not present. It can't automatically rename photos in the image data set. Little stuff, but it is the sort of task that is repetitive manual nonsense and seems amenable to automation. But not yet.

So, it ends up being a lot of front end work to get my photos organized and named properly before uploading. I did figure out how to drag and drop straight into the page instead of uploading to the image data set and then adding from the image data set.

But progress. Pics are getting added; the framework for the site is expanding. Still lots to do, but farther along than when I started.

I may take a break from photos and post more blog entries. Or not. That is the joy of this. No one is watching so I can do what I want.
