So I started listening to Mary Chapin Carpenter thanks to Molly P in college. I bought the CDs (as one did back in those days) and played them regularly. This play cycle carried over through lawschool and, while she did not speak to me in all of her songs, the portfolio had man catchy songs like Passionate Kisses and I Feel Lucky . My musical tastes shifted away from country and she faded into a sometimes revisit when I would come across her CDs.

Fast forward to this past weekend, when the phrase "it's not too much to ask" was rattling around my head. I was like 'there is a song lyric about this.' A quick search and her song with Joe Diffie popped up. It was not quite the overall message I was thinking, but it put her back in the front of my mind. So today, as I fired up some music to draft claims, I asked why not Mary Chapin. The first song - He Thinks He'll Keep Her.

Ouch.
