I am still alive, part 2

Got back on the Peloton this morning. First bike since move. It is not set up optimally, but give me an hour and it will be in good shape. I opted for a low impact ride with CDE for a variety of reasons. One, it has been over a month since I rode and I am not ready to get back to crushing hard rides. Two, I tweaked my back lifting something. Stubborn me has not taken the time to let that recover fully, but realist me says don't push it too hard. Three, there is just a huge mental barrier to getting back into the exercise routine for me. It is always, 'I can start that tomorrow' or 'I have other things I need to do with that time' or any number of excuses. But, usually, once I start, I can get some momentum to keep things going. So, started. Four, CDE had things I needed to hear. I am usually a Powerzone rider, so I gravitate to CDE, Dennis, and Matt naturally. Each has their strengths. CDE says things you need to hear even when you dont realize that you need them.

Her message was mostly to those recovering from injury and just trying to get revolutions on the pedals. I am not quite that, but it is close enough. Sometimes it is not about crushing a ride. Sometimes it is just about getting back on the metaphorical horse and taking the ride.

So, while I doubt that she will ever be read this, thank you CDE. Your words do make a difference.

But, with that ride behind me, now to figure out the layout for the bike space, figure out the laundry protocol, and all the things so that future rides are easier. Cut down on the false excuses and start making it a routine and priority.

The shuffle is real

Still trying to optimize the space I have. I tried putting a 4x4 piece of plywood on a table to see about a wargaming surface. It feels too big. I want to try a 3x3, but Lowes in Selma did not have

I am still alive, part 3

So, I did some in person gaming yesterday. In keeping with commentary about isolation, I drove 55 minutes to someone's house in chapel hill and played Draw Steel. First, that is a long ass drive. I
