The Mad Devil

In April 2006, I moved to CT for a job.  Stamford specifically.  I knew no one up there except my co-workers.  I played a lot of City of Heroes and Lord of the Rings Online.  I walked my dogs - Knuckles and Butch at that time, and I painted.  Eventually, I met Stabby and had some companionship, but it was a lonely couple of years.  At some point I also brought Jerry up to join my workplace, but he had a new wife and while we did some things together, we were not daily hang out buddies.

In April of 2008, they said I could work remotely, so I moved back to NC.  Good times - I could take my laptop pool side and write a response while standing in the pool.  My boss joked that she could smell the chlorine on the word file.  In July 2008, I was laid off as too expensive.  Ah well.  Most of the other attorneys were laid off by the end of the year.  Jerry was the last man standing, but eventually even he was let go.

I did contract work for a bit and then took a job in Texas. Before I moved in October, Butch died Labor Day weekend I lasted four days before quitting in a prima donna rage.  So I moved back to NC and opened my own firm.  I don't think I managed any painting while I was in Texas.  Leaving my NC door until I returned to my NC door was only 31 days.  Poor Knuckles was confused.

4th edition D&D came out in 08, and we played some until I got fed up with the system and rage quit.  My buddies kept playing, but I stayed out of it.

I was on my own for two years before returning to the job I had left in 06.  I was never super busy on my own, which was part of the reason I went back to the old job.  I am not sure I painted too much, because I was not playing much.  But I will try to find the minis I painted in this era.
