The Mad Devil
Knuckles came into my life in 2005. My mom had a shihtzu that was not a good fit for the farm. A young woman who worked in the same building had a puppy that was too much for her. I traded her the shihtzu for Knuckles. My first encounter with him, Knuckles bit my ass, which caused the young woman's son (who had also named Knuckles) no end of amusement.
He was probably some sort of lab-boxer something mutt. Playful and a trouble maker, he was a good boy.
Steve F dubbed him Chauncy for reasons I still do not understand.
He could jump the fence when he was so inclined and he could jump back in so that I never really knew if he had been on a walkabout unless someone reported it to me.
He picked fights. A lot. He beat up the dogs next door. He beat up Goblin. So many stitches.
As with Butch, he was one of the rocks that kept me sane through CT.

Knuckles isn’t your average pup. In the chaotic realm of The Mad Devil, he serves as the primary morale officer and the self-appointed guardian of the D20 stash. Whether it's overseeing a complex Dwarven Forge build or patiently waiting for a snack during an intense combat encounter, Knuckles brings a steady spirit to the house.
Legend has it that he was found amidst the ruins of a miniature graveyard, though he mostly spends his days hunting sunbeams across the floor. His story is one of loyalty, soft snores, and the occasional rogue bark that keeps the local goblins (and neighbors) on their toes.
