Bugs

Note that this big spider is not in the same foam tray as the rest of the bugs as he is a chonky boy. But thematically, he belongs with the other spiders and bugs.

I got this guy when I needed battlefield corpses. It is a little too alive for that purpose, but who does not love a good beetle swarm. Very much shades of B. Fraser's version of The Mummy.

I am not really sure what these guys are supposed to be. Maybe some sort of fae like a leafy korrid or something. I am also not sure why they are in my bug tray (most likely because they fit and I dont have a specific spot for them anywhere else), but here they are.

Chelsea played in a game where her druid got a peryton as an animal companion. Setting aside the rules violation and the fact that perytons are evil and eat hearts out of people, this was also an artic peryton. So it got painted this way. This is not that mini. Well, it is the same sculpt, but not that paint job. I liked it so much, I painted one for me. This one will not be an animal companion.

These bullywogs are in the same box as the manticore immediatley above and the dire bat, but I have no recollection of what theme that fit. So I have to assume it was because they fit.

Giants and Giant-Kin

These Fomorians are Ral Partha and part of the official license run they did. They are tiny compared to other Fomorian iterations. I bought these for Night Below.

I have two sets of these Ral Partha minis. Both sets came in a blister pack titled Armored Ogres. 02-416. When sold individually, they are armored cat ogre archer and armored ogre gladiator. They are not very ogre like IMO.

This Ral Partha Fire Giant is pretty much straight out of the 1E Monster Manual. It speaks to me.

This is a Ral Partha licensed Mountain Giant. I am pretty sure I got this at the Hungates in Durham in the summer of 93 when I was trying to buy up all the licensed minis before they sold out. Notice how flat he is. Also, he is tiny compared to what he is supposed to be by game mechanics. He makes a good hill giant these days.

This is the Ral Partha licensed Ogre Magi (11-405). I am not sure how I got him, but he is missing a captive woman in the off hand and I am pretty sure I stuck a Sivak Draconian's wings on him instead of what he is supposed to have. I glommed a bunch of green stuff on his hand so that he has just a stump. I suppose this is one of my first "kit bash" minis. I am pretty sure he had a divot for the wings, but looking at the blister, I dont see what is supposed to have gone there. *shrug*

Flying Tray

This tray is dedicated to the smaller flying creatures as opposed to bigger miniatures like griffons, manticores, dragons, wyverns, and the like.

This last harpy is a terrible sculpt. It has just that one ankle to support the miniature's weight. This relatively thin ankle forms a single point of failure for the miniature. I have glued it 3-4 times and it keeps breaking, relegating this miniature to a display piece at best and not useful for tabletop use.

This Reaper Dire Bat is not actually in the flying tray. Nor is it in the animal trays. Because it does not fit. But I am putting it here.
